Site-specific Soundscape Installation 2021, Venezia, Italy
This project is a site-specific composition of contemporary style music and acousmatic design for the 60th anniversary exhibition of the wine brand Pinot Grigio Santa Margherita.
The event took place at the 16th century church S. Francesco Della Vigna, in Venice, Italy. The two cloisters were used as commemorative installations space and press aperitif space respectively. Based on the unique architecture of the area, we decided to design a two-layers soundscape to guide the guests through the cloisters, by letting them locate the source of the sounds and creating a continuous sense of space.
In the first cloister, the history of the Pinot is retraced through the winds of the vineyards and the pouring of the wine. In the second cloister, a smooth jazz session, layered on top of the previous cloister’s sounds, enriches the soundscape for the aperitif area, condensing the history to the glass of wine that is about to be tasted.
