Soundscape Installation 2021, Trieste, Italy
History passes down and does not dissipate, and even though the smoke of war drifts away from this border land, the memories of the people remain. Each track focuses on the historical and cultural heritage of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in particular on the de-industrialisation processes after World War II: naval industry, coffee industry, textile industry and mining industry.
Yilin recorded several real samples (ship engine, coffee beans, birds, sewing machine, etc.) and combined them with other music elements, creating a vivid atmosphere of these production processes that are still part of the identity of the region, and are still active today.
